Hyderabad, 14th June 2023: St. Mary's Group of Institutions has launched the St. Mary's Software Hub, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing engineering education and addressing the challenges faced by B.Tech graduates in India. This transformative program aims to provide 600 high-quality interns and skilled manpower to the vibrant startup ecosystem in Hyderabad, further strengthening the region's technological prowess.
The Software Hub, inaugurated by the esteemed President & Secretary, Mr. K. SRIHARSHA SHASHANK, marks a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to fostering industry-academia collaboration and producing industry-ready professionals. The event was graced by renowned guests from the industry, including Mr. Prashanth Duggishetti, Founder & CEO of Ellenox; Mr. Sikander Shaik, CEO & Executive Director of SchoolKnot; Mr. Arun K., Founder-Director of Elemantra Enterprises Private Limited; Mr. Manoj Kumar, Product Development & Startup Mentor; Mr. Reddy Yugandhar, Start-up Mentor, Founder, and Chief Enabler at V-REAP Foundation; Mr. Ankur Bagchi, Founder of Ellenox; and Mr. Daniel Bontha, Wynfluenz Welfare Foundation.

Through this program, we are committed to equipping our students with the necessary skills and experience to excel in the software industry, thereby enhancing their employability and making a positive difference in society. The highlight of the launch event was a thought-provoking panel discussion held at the Auditorium, wherein the distinguished guests and staff members engaged in a fruitful dialogue on the theme: “Bridging the Gap: Exploring Industry-Academia Collaboration and Upskilling Strategies for Engineering Students.” This interactive session aimed to shed light on the remarkable transition of civil engineers into software application developers within a mere 3 months in the software industry, while a significant majority of B.Tech graduates struggle to achieve the same proficiency over their four years of study. The discussion aimed to identify successful approaches adopted by software companies and explore invaluable lessons that engineering colleges can glean from the tech industry.
The first batch of Champions Jr. Web Developers was presented with offer letters during the event. These talented individuals will have the opportunity to work on real-world software projects, gaining hands-on experience and making a significant impact in the industry.
